Painless root canal

When decay or injury reaches the nerve, a root canal saves the tooth. Modern anaesthetic and rotary instruments make it comfortable — most patients say it felt like a large filling.

Whitening doesn't work on every kind of staining, and it won't change the colour of existing crowns or fillings. We'll tell you honestly before you pay.

Dental emergencies

Severe pain, facial swelling, bleeding that won't stop, a broken tooth, or a tooth knocked clean out. Don't wait for an appointment slot — ring us.

• Knocked-out adult tooth: hold it by the crown, never the root. Put it back in the socket if you can, or keep it in milk, and get to us within the hour.
• Facial swelling with fever or trouble swallowing: urgent. Call immediately.
• Toothache: painkillers you'd normally take and a cold compress. Never put aspirin directly on the gum — it burns the tissue.

Outside our hours we'll help if we can, but we can't guarantee 24-hour cover. For a serious facial injury or difficulty breathing, go straight to hospital.
